Today at their regularly scheduled board meeting, the Orange County Board of Supervisors, by a unanimous vote, adopted a resolution allowing Orange County employed peace officers who were injured at the October 2017 mass shooting event in Las Vegas, NV, access to workers compensation benefits.

Don’t forget to vote today. Every vote counts… and yours definitely matters. Check the Registrar of Voters website in your area for polling places and times. Please keep law enforcement in mind when casting your ballot.

The general election is less than two weeks away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. When you cast your ballot, please remember to keep law enforcement in mind. Here is a list of the candidates and measures AOCDS is endorsing:

AOCDS member Artin Baron is running for the position of general member on the OCERS board of directors. This election is extremely important, because all positions on the board directly affect all county employees, including AOCDS members. The incumbent has voted with the anti-pension Lincoln Club appointee to raise your pension costs, not once, but twice. The AOCDS board of directors, including OCERS safety member Roger Hilton, strongly endorses Artin Baron.

Every election is a critical one. We must have our voices heard in order to preserve the quality law enforcement taxpayers have come to expect and deserve. Don’t let others make decisions for you. Be informed and vote.

By now, you should have received your OCERS Board of Retirement Safety Member election ballot in the mail. AOCDS 1st Vice President Roger Hilton is the incumbent and is being challenged by an OC firefighter, so it is crucial that you vote for Roger Hilton and return your postage-paid ballot as soon as you receive it.
