AOCDS Unveils Fallen Officers Memorial Wall at Ribbon Cutting

AOCDS recently hosted a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and unveiling of our new Fallen Officers Memorial Wall. The memorial wall located in our lobby, pays tribute to our nine officers who gave their lives in the line of duty for our community.

Due to the ongoing restrictions of the pandemic, attendance was limited. We were honored to host the family members of two of our fallen heroes, Sergeant Ira Essoe, Jr., End of Watch: February 4, 2010 and Sergeant Matt Davis, End of Watch: September 22, 2002.

Thank you to Sheriff Don Barnes, Orange County Chief Assistant District Attorney Shawn Nelson, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors Andrew Do, and Second District Supervisor Katrina Foley for attending and supporting our memorial dedication. A special thank you to AOCDS Board Member Jeff Weaver and our Communications/Special Projects Producer Lynda Halligan for their hard work on designing and bringing this wall to completion.

We look forward to a time when our members can come together, but in the meantime, all are welcome to individually stop by our office and view the Fallen Officers Memorial Wall.

AOCDS is a founding member of the California Peace Officers Memorial Foundation and a partner of the National Law Enforcement Memorial Fund. We are committed to ensure the legacies of our fallen heroes are not forgotten. The Fallen Officers Memorial Wall in our lobby will forever honor their courage and express our gratitude to each of our Orange County officers and their families for their sacrifice.

This continues to be an unprecedented time for all law enforcement officers and our members. We recognize the added challenges that have been placed on you and your families and commend your sacrifice and service to our community. Know that you have the gratitude and support of AOCDS.

May this serve as a reminder to take care of each other, always be vigilant and stay safe.
