AOCDS Releases Statement on Las Vegas Massacre

“We are sickened and brokenhearted over the unnecessary tragedy that unfolded in Las Vegas overnight. As we mourn the loss of the 59 victims and pray for the recovery of the hundreds injured in the mass shooting, we find a ray of light in the humanity we’re seeing in the aftermath of the massacre. Stories of heroism continue to emerge. We are incredibly proud of our off-duty deputies and D.A. investigators there to enjoy the concert, whose instincts to save lives immediately kicked in when the gunfire erupted. Many brought themselves and others to safety, then automatically returned to the killing field to save more lives. These men and women, along with all the other members of law enforcement, are true heroes.”
