Deputy Terry Lundy (Ret.) Passing

We regret to inform you that Deputy Terrence (Terry) M. Lundy (ret.) has passed away. Deputy Lundy joined the Orange County Sheriff’s Department nearly 50 years ago in 1969. He worked South Patrol, Special Operations, Transportation and finally Harbor Patrol. He retired in October of 2002 but returned as an Extra Help Deputy for Harbor Patrol the following month, where he worked until October of 2014.

Born and raised in Newport Beach, Deputy Lundy called the coastal city home until his passing. After graduating from Newport Harbor High School in 1962, Lundy continued his education at Orange Coast College, where he obtained an Associate of Arts degree in 1964. He then transferred to California State University, Long Beach. Lundy served in the 9th Infantry Division of the United States Army and was deployed to Vietnam for two years in 1967. Shortly after returning to Southern California, he joined OCSD.

Deputy Lundy passed away in his sleep on November 26, 2018 at the age of 73. He is survived by his wife, Joann, three adult children, Lisa, Brian and Rechelle, and six grandchildren ages 9 to 21.
