It’s time to hit the green and raise money for Southland children in need. Each year, the Cops for Kids charity golf tournament helps about a thousand underserved kids and their families. Because of this fundraiser, youngsters are able to have gifts to open over the holidays, wear new clothes when they start their new school year, have a roof over their head and get necessary transportation.
The Orange County Police Canine Association presents the 30th Annual Police K-9 Demonstration. Don’t miss the vendor fair followed by the K-9 Demonstration, in which about 60 K-9 teams are scheduled to perform.

This is a community-wide event educating parents and other adults on new Cannabis laws, how Cannabis affects a young person’s brain and the different forms of Cannabis. Experts will also offer tips on recognizing whether a child is using, what to do if he or she is and how to encourage kids not to use Cannabis.
Lake Forest K-6 residents, who attended “Get Safe – Basic,” will get the chance to learn about personal safety awareness, self-defense, bullying prevention and much more. The class is held on 4 consecutive Mondays.

The AOCDS Memorial Fund assists peace officers or the families of officers who are killed or injured in the line of duty, suffering from a serious medical condition, experiencing a catastrophic circumstance, disabled, or retired and in need of assistance. This includes, but is not limited to, sworn deputy sheriffs or peace officers with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, district attorney’s office, probation department and OC Parks. The fund also helps qualifying officers across the state of California and awards annual scholarships to select children of members entering their first year at a college or university, among many other things.
The AOCDS Memorial Fund is a fully recognized 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
